HI, my name is Curtis and I'm a cutting tool specialist with 32 years of experience tooling up mills and lathes. After working for tooling and cutter manufacturers for 13 years, I came off the road and started Lathe Inserts .com with my wife in 2006. It's just the two of us so like many of you, we're considered a "mom and pop" small business.
Unlike most online retailers, I've run or tested most of these tools at the spindle or on the turret. Don't be shocked by our low prices. The tools perform extremely well and if something's not right, I'll make it right. My personal number is on the contact page.

This insert is one of the most popular items we sell.
It's a top performer in low carbon steels all the way up to hardened material. Get's surprising results in stainless when called for. It's a tough grade of carbide with a thick CVD coating for wear resistance.
My lovely wife Denise suggested we make a video (no, not that kind of video) so here goes. Featuring Jazz, one of our crazy thoroughbreds
Part, groove, and turn left or right with our Multi-Tool holder and inserts. Sandvik, Iscar, all of them have tried to come for us and they leave scratching their heads. Holders average $60 bucks and inserts start at $9.75

Sticky gummy 304, bad finishes, poor tool life, poor chip control that can cut your lips off. I've been testing stainless grades and chip breakers for 33 years. These are the best I've tried and boy are they winners! Check out this Haas Tool Room lathe showing 304 who's boss.
I love running feed mills.

A '65 long wheelbase step side we found rusting away in a heavy equipment yard. Couldn't allow that!

Curtis has 32 years of experience as a cutting tool applications specialist. He's worked with Kennametal, Iscar, Parlec, Rego-Fix, and Hanita. Widely known around internet message boards and forums as exkenna, he's tooled up hundreds of mills and lathes. Curt has personally tested almost every tool on this website, something you won't find with any other tooling supplier.
